Hi, everyone! I am Tanisma, the liaison of Bukit Vista with Partner from the Business Development team who participated in this Round Table Talk. Here I would like to share a story about an unforgettable dinner that has left an indelible mark in the sands of time, creating precious memories that we can revisit in the pages of our past.
On the evening of October 12th, 2023, Bukit Vista Bali Base had the privilege of hosting some exceptional guests, making it an unforgettable night of engaging conversations, culinary discoveries, and heartwarming stories. Among our esteemed guests were Lion, a former Business Development employee at Bukit Vista who now works at iLot, as well as the loyal couple, Julian and Emma, who have formed a close bond with Wayana and the Bukit Vista family.
Culinary Curiosity: Emma’s Delight
As they arrived at our Bali base, Emma couldn’t help but be captivated by the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. Her curiosity led to a delightful discussion about the art of crafting naan bread and the intricacies of preparing chicken biryani. Emma also shared her deep appreciation for Indonesian cuisine, particularly her love for nasi goreng. She animatedly shared her favorite spots for savoring this beloved dish.
Journey Through Jakarta: Lion’s Insights
Lion, a Jakarta native, guided us through a captivating conversation about the vibrant yet traffic-choked streets of Jakarta. The discussion ranged from the city’s bustling nature to its traffic congestion, and even delved into the ambiance that defines Indonesia’s capital. Lion also drew parallels between Jakarta’s SCBD, an elite business district, and Silicon Valley, two key players in the global tech and business landscape.
Canggu Chronicles: A Chat with Lion
As the night continued, Lion shared insights into his current work in Canggu, a thriving tourist hub in Bali. The conversation turned towards how Canggu is tackling traffic issues through road expansion and the current state of this dynamic area.
A Flashback to Beginnings: The Jing-Lion Connection
The evening took a heartfelt turn as we briefly revisited the remarkable journey of Lion’s employment with Bukit Vista. Jing’s bold decision to reach out to Lion, even while he was working in the United States, led to a spontaneous visit by Lion to the Bukit Vista office. At that time, Jing and Lion met for the first time, with Jing unable to recognize Lion’s face. Lion’s unwavering commitment and courage in accepting the job offer and making the move to Bali, despite the language and cultural shifts after residing in the United States, epitomized “Just do It” the core values of Bukit Vista.
The evening was a testament to the power of connections and the magic that can unfold when individuals from different walks of life come together. It left an indelible mark on all who were present and served as a reminder of the rich tapestry of experiences and stories that continue to shape the BV family.
