Jimbaran, 6 September 2023 – Bukit Vista, the innovative tech-driven hospitality company based in Bali, Indonesia, has once again made waves in the world of education and technology with its 23rd BV E-Talk webinar, held on September 6, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM WIB (GMT +7). The event, titled “Next Level Hospitality: How AI is Revolutionizing Guest Experience,” was a resounding success, attracting 740 registrans from across the globe.
BV E-Talk, known for its commitment to providing valuable insights and inspiration to every comunity, featured a panel of distinguished experts who delved deep into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the hospitality industry. The speakers included: Indra Gunawan, CEO of Bobobox ; Laxmi Harikumar, AI Consultant also Generative AI Engineer; Yutika A. Effendi, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Lecturer at Universitas Airlangga; and Agus Wibawa, IT and Communication Manager at Kappa Senses Ubud.
The event began with a warm welcome from Pak Zainal Abidin, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at Universitas Negeri Semarang. Universitas Negeri Semarang made a big impact by sending over 200 participants to join the BV E-Talk 23 event.
The discussion revolved around critical themes. Firstly, the role of AI in hospitality was examined, with Indra emphasizing AI’s ability to understand customer preferences, aiding operators in delivering exceptional service. Laxmi discussed how AI has democratized every aspect of the industry by personalizing guest experiences. Agus highlighted AI’s potential as a 24/7 virtual assistant catering to all customer needs, while Yutika noted that some hotels have already replaced staff with AI and robotics.
Secondly, the benefits of AI for hospitality professionals were explored, with Agus highlighting AI’s efficiency in various operations, from reservations to housekeeping. Indra added that AI can create itineraries more effectively than most individuals. He also shares how his company fills its property revenue through dynamic pricing. Laxmi cautioned about the risks of relying entirely on AI and the importance of understanding data outputs. Yutika raised ethical concerns related to transparency, privacy, and error monitoring.
Finally, the discussion turned to AI training for new graduates or old employees. Yutika emphasized the importance of continuous training and development for the successful implementation of AI. Agus stated that while a basic understanding of AI may not be crucial for young graduates in the hospitality industry, their interest and curiosity should be nurtured. Laxmi highlighted that the next generation has easier access to AI knowledge and programming, making it more accessible, and Indra shared Bobobox’s approach to attracting tech-savvy individuals and providing them with guidance.
The webinar concluded with an engaging interactive session, featuring over 20 participant questions, making it one of the most dynamic BV E-Talk events to date.
