Hey everyone! I’m Rama, currently slaying as the HR MSIB Intern, would like to walk-you-through to our MSIB selection process throwback. As someone deeply passionate about how Bukit Vista empowers its team and fosters talent, I’m excited to share the story of our MSIB Batch 7 selection process. This round brought in five incredible interns—Ega, Azel, Jason, Yosef, and Me! —each bringing their own unique talents to the table. While I wasn’t directly involved in the selection process, I had the pleasure of interviewing these talented individuals and learning about their inspiring journey. Their experience sheds light on how Bukit Vista shapes its future leaders through challenge, growth, and innovation.
Here’s a look into their inspiring journey and why our selection process stands out from the rest.

The First Step: A Challenge Worth Facing

The selection process at Bukit Vista kicks off with a hands-on trial program, designed to test skills in real-world scenarios, unlike the usual interview formats. As Yosef, our backend developer intern, explains, It was like a MasterChef challenge! We were given coding projects, bug-finding tasks, and each step was like adding spices to a dish. There were mistakes along the way, but it all came together perfectly.” Ega, our Flutter developer intern, noted that the trial program closely resembled a real-work simulation. He lightheartedly commented, “It’s either myself or the BV GO App under pressure.” For Ega, the trial posed several challenges, as it significantly deviated from the conventional interview process. The program wasn’t just about showing technical expertise, but about tackling problems with creativity and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Jason, our content creator intern, had a similar experience. The trial lasted three days, and each day brought new tasks that tested our abilities,” he shares. From brainstorming content strategies to handling online marketing scenarios, it was a high-energy challenge. He recalls the mixed emotions: “One part of me was confident, but the other part wondered if I could’ve done more. It was hectic but memorable.”
Azel, who interned as a business data scientist, faced tasks that pushed her analytical skills to the limit. “I had to work on revenue management tasks, analyzing data and presenting insights. It required attention to detail and a lot of problem-solving, he explains. Yet, despite the complexity, he found the process “challenging, informative, and rewarding.”
As for me, the HR intern, my three-day trial was a whirlwind of challenges. “Each day brought something new that pushed me out of my comfort zone.” From screening CVs and handling recruitment tasks to managing outreach efforts and working on employer branding, the experience was intense but incredibly rewarding. When I finally got the news that I’d passed, the sense of relief and accomplishment was real. As I like to say, “All that grind? Totally worth it!”

Rising to the Occasion: How They Felt

For Ega, our flutter development intern, the trial program felt like real work. He was tasked with ensuring the smooth functioning of Bukit Vista’s Guest AI Assistant (GAIA)and building a dashboard for the BVGO app. He says, “It went beyond the usual interview—it tested my mental endurance, skills, and my ability to take initiative.” Throughout the challenge, he felt like he was preparing for the real responsibilities he’d face as an intern.
“It felt like finishing a marathon,” Yosef adds, describing the satisfaction after completing the trial. “Tired but incredibly satisfied, like unlocking a new achievement in a game.” That sentiment was echoed by all five interns, who not only pushed their limits but found joy in the process.
Jason sums up his feelings: “It gave me the opportunity to evaluate myself and strive to do better each day.” For Azel, the nerves and excitement were part of the process. “There were times when I felt overwhelmed, but I also enjoyed learning new things every step of the way.”

The Strengths that Led to Success

Behind each success story is a unique strength. For Ega, it was the unwavering support of family, friends, and colleagues, along with his own confidence and faith. For Yosef and Jason, curiosity and a strong bias to action were key. “If you don’t know something, just ask,” says Jason. “Asking questions helped me understand the assignments better and improve.”
Azel attributes her success to persistence and the desire to learn. “Even when things were difficult, I stayed motivated. My willingness to ask questions and seek feedback helped me improve at every stage.”
Each intern brought a unique trait to the table, but they all shared one thing in common: a hunger to learn, improve, and face challenges head-on.

The Final Takeaway: More Than Just a Selection Process

The Bukit Vista selection process wasn’t just a trial; it was a transformative journey. I am myself, as the HR intern, reflects on how the program’s hands-on nature helped me grow. “For me, it wasn’t just about technical skills—it tested how I dealt with real-world challenges. The process sharpened my skills and gave me the confidence to face any future challenges.”
For all of them, the trial program went beyond traditional internships. It was about growth, learning, and becoming a part of Bukit Vista’s dynamic and innovative community.
As Azel wisely puts it, “It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. The process made me a better and more confident person.”
